This track is about how we have affections for things of this world, and our hearts go to them rather than God. When we have needs for intimacy, where do we go to be fulfilled? Often we turn to lesser things, which could mean we look for intimacy in ways that are outside the bounds of God's good design. The Bible is not shy in mentioning the ways in which we do this: 19Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21 ESV) 40 is a biblical number representing change. Let this 40 days be the start of something new. Stay focused, fight hard. Grab a friend for accountability. Pray. Get ready, prepare for challenges, foresee stumbling blocks. Find the grit, feel the desperation. This could be your best chance. Make it count. This track will have reminders to stay focused and helpful tips to find motivation. The work is started by God but needs our full participation. This is where you engage your full self to align to God's good purposes. You must decide to be "all in" for this is what is required. Deuteronomy 6:5-9 says "Love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." (NIV)
